Description
Yukon Planning Group on Homelessness and CYFN is organizing a Homelessness Point-in-Time count starting at 12 noon on April 13th and running til 12 noon on April 14th, 2016
A Point-in-Time (PiT) count captures a picture of homelessness over a 24 hour period.
Here in Whitehorse, we will not only be counting and surveying those who are staying in a shelter but those who may be couch surfing, living in short term tenancies or sleeping rough.
Part of the Whitehorse PiT Count involves a I Count FREE COMMUNITY BBQ on Thursday, April 14th at the Old Firehall between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. where anyone we may have missed the night before can come and take the survey.
We want to have a welcoming and warm atmosphere with live music.
If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Colleen Latham, the PiT Count Coordinator at PiTcountwhitehorse2016@nullgmail.com or 867-335-5220.
Thanks for your help. This is one step towards ending homelessness in Whitehorse and we hope you will be a part of it!
